Laureldale Borough police investigate attempted luring of student on way to school

The Laureldale Borough Police Department is investigating a report of a suspicious man who approached and attempted lure a student walking to school Tuesday morning.

According to police, the report was made on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, regarding a 16-year-old female that was attempted to be lured into a vehicle on the way to school the morning of Tuesday, February 21, 2023.

Police say the female juvenile was walking on Elizabeth Ave. in the vicinity of Rosedale Ave. in Laureldale Borough between 7am and 7:15am when a male driver operating a silver-colored vehicle, possibly a Toyota, approached her and asked if she was on her way to school. The female juvenile stated yes. The male driver said to her, “Get into the vehicle I will take you to school.”

The female juvenile refused, and the male driver drove off.

Police describe the male driver as white, approximately 40-50 years of age, no facial hair and bald. It was unknown what clothing the male was wearing since he never exited the vehicle.
