Over 30 Shots Fired in Hampden Park; No Injuries Reported

The Reading Police Department Criminal Investigation Unit has released new video in related to a shooting on the 1100 block of Hampden Blvd, Monday evening in Reading.

According to Reading Police, at approximately 6:42pm, gunfire was exchanged between multiple people in the crowded park and across the street. Police believe 30-40 were fired during the incident.

“Fortunately, no one was struck by gunfire” Investigators said.

A video of the incident was recorded by a security camera across the street. It the video, a group is seen gathered near Hampden Blvd in the trees. As the sound of gunfire rips through the area the crowd disperses.

Reading Police are asking for the public’s help to identity the shooters and vehicles involved. Anyone with information is asked to submit an anonymous tip to Crime Alert Berks County.
