A tragic incident unfolded Monday night on the 1300 block of Muhlenberg Street, as Reading Police and EMS rushed to the scene following reports of a shooting.
The victim, later identified as 19-year-old Christian Disla, was discovered at the scene by police with a gunshot wound. Authorities have not disclosed the circumstances surrounding the shooting or any information on the suspect(s).
In a press release issued by the Reading Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division, officials provided further details on the incident. According to the release, officers responded to reports of shots fired around 7:55 pm in the vicinity of the 1200 block of Muhlenberg St. Disla was found in the adjacent 1300 block, where he lost his life.
At present, authorities reassure the public that there is no immediate threat to safety. However, the investigation into the crime is ongoing, and anyone with pertinent information is urged to come forward.
