Police investigating late-night shooting in Southwest Reading, two hospitalized

The Reading Police Department is investigating a shooting that left two people hospitalized Saturday, October 29th. The incident happened at approximately 11:47 pm, when police and paramedics were called to the 200 block of South 6th Street following reports of a shooting with multiple victims.

Initial reports indicate that two male victims suffered gunshot wounds, while a third person was possibly grazed by a bullet. The victims were found across several blocks, spanning the 200 to the 400 blocks of South 6th Street.

Upon their discovery, both wounded individuals were promptly transported to Reading Hospital. The precise extent of their injuries remains undisclosed at this time.

In response to the incident, police closed several blocks of South 6th Street for the investigation.

Authorities have yet to disclose any information regarding potential suspect(s) involved in the shooting. However, one person was observed being taken into custody by police at the scene. It remains unclear what role, if any, this individual played in the incident.
