West Reading Police Investigate shooting that left person injured Friday morning

Police in West Reading are investigating a shooting which left one person injured early Friday morning.

According to West Reading Police, around 3am, Officers on patrol in the area of South 3rd Ave and Chestnut Street were approached by a vehicle which had the shooting victim inside.

The victim had a shoulder injury and was treated on scene by Officers and responding EMS units. Police say the injury sustained was minor and the victim has already been treated and released from an area hospital.

Officers from the WRPD began an initial investigation and were assisted on scene by Officers from the Wyomissing Police Department. The investigation was continued by WRPD Criminal Investigators.

At this time Police believe the incident took place on the Penn Street Bridge. In addition, investigators say the victim has not been cooperative with the investigation.
