Alvernia University announced it has named Leslie Kane its new associate vice president for human resources. Her appointment is part of the university’s continuation to align its senior leadership team to support a new strategic direction and completes the effort to bring the human resources function in-house.
“The organizational diversity of Leslie’s experiential success is a real strength as is her personable and engaging style,” said Alvernia Senior Vice President Dr. John R. McCloskey. “Additionally, she provides a fresh approach to delivering learning solutions by leveraging blended resources, driving quality training outcomes, reducing costs and yielding improved organizational and individual performance,” he added.
Before the new appointment, Kane served as an HR consultant in Philadelphia, designing workshops for individual growth, leadership and team experience. Before that, she served as the first vice president, HR director, learning and employee development for First Niagara Financial Group, leading individual and enterprise wide learning initiatives for over 5500 employees at multiple geographic locations.
With more than three decades of achievement in a variety of human resource strategic, generalist and specialized roles, Kane has formed collaborative partnerships at various levels to implement onboarding programs, talent development protocols, executive coaching and performance management.
Kane holds a post-baccalaureate certificate of professional studies in human resources from Ursinus College and a bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Delaware.
The university announced in July 2019 the realignment of its senior leadership team to support a new strategic direction, called the Alvernia Advantage, designed to support its special brand of experiential transformation of the individual and community.
