Reading Hospital Magnet Champions have partnered with the United Way to coordinate the 2021 “Stuff the Bus – Adopt a Classroom” campaign for Reading School District.
Reading Hospital departments adopted a total of 104 classrooms in Glenside Elementary, Millmont Elementary, and Tyson-Schoener Elementary, along with all 21 Reading Area School District Nurses.
Team members at Reading Hospital assembled “dream boxes” for each classroom, consisting of supplies teachers and school nurses frequently purchase on their own to support student learning and health.
On Friday morning, volunteers loaded hundreds of boxes into two school buses in front of the Reading Hospital Clock Tower, then traveled to each school with their donations.
“I’d like to thank the Magnet Champions for coordinating this event and the departments that have ‘adopted’ a classroom,” said Therese Sucher, Interim President and CEO at Reading Hospital and Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Tower Health.
“The team has given so much to the community during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the annual Stuff the Bus is another example of how our team continues to give and prioritizes the needs of our community.”
