The Reading School District Board of Directors has named Dr. Camil Culbreath as the district’s next director of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
Dr. Culbreath most recently served as principal of Stewart Middle School in Norristown, Pennsylvania. In that position, she developed, implemented, and monitored a Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) Plan for four years, in addition to creating programs to ensure equitable parent and family engagement at both the school and the district levels.
“I am excited to step into my new role as director of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in the Reading School District,” said Dr. Culbreath. “I look forward to leveraging my administrative background and diverse experiences to cultivate an environment where every student and staff member feels seen, heard, and valued. By collaborating with fellow staff and students, I am eager to foster a community that thrives on inclusivity and understanding.”
Previously, Dr. Culbreath held the role of house principal at Quakertown Community High School, where she focused on initiatives combating cultural and racial intolerance. She holds a doctoral degree in educational leadership and policy from Vanderbilt University and a master’s degree in secondary chemistry from Chestnut Hill College.

Dr. Culbreath officially began her role as director of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging of the Reading School District on Monday, November 27, 2023.
