Reading Mayor adds concert tickets as incentive for vaccine clinic

Reading Mayor Eddie Morán is offering concert tickets to the La India concert in September as an incentive for a new vaccination clinic to encourage people to become fully vaccinated in the City.

The Mayor is once again partnering with State Representative Manny Guzmán, and the Penn State St. Joseph Medical Center, Downtown Campus for the clinic. “This clinic will be similar to the previous ones with a twist and offering what we believe is an excellent incentive to fully inoculate individuals” said Morán.

The clinic will be held Wednesday, August 18, 2021 from noon to 6pm at the Penn State St. Joseph Medical Center downtown campus, 125 Reed Street (6th & Walnut).

The first 200 people to become fully vaccinated, with two shots administered by the clinic, will receive one admission ticket to the La India concert on Saturday, September 25th, supplied by radio station Mega Reading.

The clinic will be on a first-come, first-serve basis similar to previous clinics, without the need for an appointment. Although the emphasis is on City residents, Morán says the clinic is open to anyone. Bilingual assistance will be offered.

“I appeal to our community to pay close attention to the recent dramatic spikes several municipalities are experiencing across the nation and act immediately” said Morán.

“The vaccines are our best chance to prevent hospitalization overloads and death rates, especially in Third-Class Cities with limited resources such as Reading. Let’s protect our families, loved ones, community, and beloved City.”
