27-year-old Sinking Spring man dies in Reading crash

A 27-year-old Sinking Spring man died following a motor vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in Reading, according to the Berks County Coroner’s Office.

Emergency officials were notified of the fatal crash at 1:27 p.m. on June 18 in the 300 block of South Fourth Street. Deputies from the Berks County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene, where the victim was pronounced dead.

The victim was later identified as Najachect Camil Echevarria-Gonzalez, 27, of Sinking Spring.

An autopsy was performed Friday, June 19. The cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma and traumatic asphyxia. The manner of death remains pending while the investigation continues.

The Berks County Coroner’s Office said it was assisted at the scene by the Reading Police Department, Reading Fire Department and Matos Towing.
