5th Annual Harmony Walk brings community together for inclusion and awareness

The 5th Annual Harmony Walk drew a crowd of enthusiastic participants to Santander Arena, all coming together in support of inclusion and opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

Organized by ProBerco, the event featured 129 registered walkers, including community members, the Reading Royals hockey team, Ice Angels, and mascot Slapshot. The walk began with a ceremonial ribbon cutting and a performance of the National Anthem by Nick Yanuskiewicz, setting an uplifting tone for the day.

Participants walked, jogged, danced, and celebrated around the arena concourse to the sounds of DJ B. Lee, contributing to the vibrant and inclusive atmosphere. Organizers reported that the event reached 76% of its $20,000 fundraising goal, with hopes to close the gap in the coming weeks.

ProBerco extended special thanks to the volunteers and Santander Arena staff who helped ensure the event ran smoothly. In addition, the organization recognized Nick Yanuskiewicz for his individual fundraising efforts. Yanuskiewicz raised over $800 for the cause, sharing his personal story online to inspire others to support the organization’s mission.

Proceeds from the Harmony Walk will support ProBerco’s programs and services, including planned renovations and accessibility improvements at several of its community homes. These upgrades aim to provide safer and more comfortable housing for adults with disabilities across Berks County.
