Starting today and continuing through June 30, Berks Book Bonanza will be accepting donations at the Berkshire Mall for its 2021 sale.
The annual used book sale will be held for one more year in the former Gap and Gap Kids stores of the Berkshire Mall. The sale will run Wednesday through Sunday, July 7-11, 2021.
Collections of gently-used books and materials will begin Tuesday, April 27 at the entrance between Five Below and the former Bon-Ton. Anyone wishing to donate materials for Book Bonanza can stop by Monday and Tuesday mornings from 9:30-noon or Wednesday evenings from 6-7:30pm.
Everyone is asked to remain in their vehicles when dropping off donations, and volunteers will be around to assist with unloading. Donations will be accepted up through June 30.
A complete list of acceptable donations can be found on the Berks Book Bonanza website berksbookbonanza.org.
The 2021 sale is expected to be the last one held at the Berkshire Mall, but Berks Book Bonanza volunteers are thankful for the opportunity to hold a sale this year.
“We greatly appreciate the Berkshire Mall’s generosity these last four years for giving Berks Book Bonanza a home,” said Sherry Davis, Book Bonanza co-chair and member of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) Reading Branch.
“Especially after the hardships experienced this past year, we’re thankful to help give back to our community once more.”
Proceeds from Berks Book Bonanza are evenly divided between the AAUW and the Friends of Berks County Public Libraries. Both organizations contribute financial assistance with AAUW providing scholarships to women and the Friends helping support public libraries in Berks County.
Davis and the rest of the Berks Book Bonanza committee will resume searching for a new location after the 2021 sale has finished.
