The County of Berks announced that its South Campus building at 400 East Wyomissing Avenue will reopen to the public on Monday, July 7, following a nearly month-long closure.
The facility had been closed since June 11 after tests revealed the presence of Legionella bacteria in the building’s water system. In response, the county initiated remediation efforts and conducted additional testing of both the water and air handling systems.
Officials confirmed that all follow-up test results came back negative for Legionella, clearing the way for the building to safely resume normal operations.
The county expressed appreciation to the public for their patience and understanding during the closure.
