Berks Parks unveils dazzling 35th year of Holiday Lights at Gring’s Mill

Berks County Parks & Recreation has kicked off the 35th year of the cherished annual tradition, Holiday Lights at Gring’s Mill, which opened its enchanting doors on Friday evening.

Visitors are invited to meander through the picturesque grounds, aglow with a captivating light display that accentuates the historical charm of Gring’s Mill, showcasing its iconic buildings and scenic landscaping.

This festive spectacle will be open to the public from Fridays through Sundays, spanning December 1 to December 17, and then again from Monday, December 18 to Friday, December 23. Following a brief pause for Christmas, the Holiday Lights will resume, without Santa, from Thursday, December 28 to Saturday, December 30. Operating hours are set from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm, boasting free parking and admission.

Beyond the visual delight, visitors can relish in local culinary offerings from food trucks, bask in the warmth of the fire pit, and be serenaded by live music in the outdoor pavilion each night, from 5:45 to 7:45 pm. An additional treat awaits as guests can explore a captivating model train display housed in the former generator station on the bridge.

Adding to the excitement, Santa Claus will make periodic appearances in his Christmas Tree Lane nestled within the barn, creating magical moments for families and children.

New to this year’s festivities was ‘First Night at Holiday Lights’ opening ceremony Friday evening. The event illuminated a dazzling new display, accompanied by special music and Santa’s grand arrival to usher in the Holiday Season.

The schedule throughout the month includes special programming such as a sensory-friendly night on December 13th and a Winter Solstice Celebration on the 21st, featuring the regal King Winter and a captivating luminary lighting.

Gring’s Mill Recreation Area, the enchanting backdrop for this seasonal celebration, is conveniently located at 2083 Tulpehocken Road, Wyomissing, PA 19610. Don’t miss the opportunity to create lasting holiday memories at this magical event!
