The Birdsboro annual Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday May 29th, 2023, at 9am to honor the brave individuals who sacrificed their lives in service to our Nation.
The parade will be led by the American Legion Riders Chapter 626, Birdsboro Mayor and Police Chief. Residents are encouraged to wave American Flags and see the floats from Veterans & Auxiliaries, poppy girls, Scouting groups, Daniel Boone and Twin Valley Marching bands, various Patriotic church & civic groups, and local firefighters!
Parade participants will stage on Garfield & Monroe Streets at 8am near the former Beacon Container Corp. The parade route, same as last year will make stops to pay honors and present wreaths to the Birdsboro-Union Fire Department, Birdsboro Community Memorial Center WWI Monument, Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post 411 and American Legion Post 626. The parade will then proceed down Route 724 to Birdsboro Cemetery (St. Michaels) for a Memorial service.
Before Memorial Day, Veteran’s and Community groups and citizen’s will honor our deceased Veterans by placing 1,549 U.S. Grave marker flags on our American Hero’s final resting places in 11 local cemeteries. If interested in helping, on Saturday May 20 meet in the Birdsboro VFW Post 411 parking lot at 10am and/or on Sunday May 21st, 1pm meet at the Birdsboro Cemetery.
