Blue Marsh Stilling Basin Closing for Water Pipeline Construction

Blue March Lake Army Corps officials have announced that portions of the Blue Marsh Lake Stilling Basin and Multi-Use Trail will be closed to the public beginning on June 29, 2020.

This closure is related to the ongoing Western Berks Water Authority pipeline construction project. Parking for fishing and trail use will be available only at the Stilling Basin Stone Lot.

Both lower parking lots will be closed. Walk in traffic will be allowed for fishing by the outlet works and in the stilling basin. Fishing will be permitted below the wing walls of the dam outlet on the eastern side of the Tulpehocken Creek.

Fishing from the western bank of the Creek will not be permitted.

Officials say trail users should be aware that trail sections which are within this restricted area will also be closed.
