Building a Better Boyertown has announced the return of Boyertown Heritage Day: Illuminating the Past, scheduled for Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. This event, now in its second year, invites participants to delve into Boyertown’s rich history through an interactive, town-wide mystery-solving adventure.
Boyertown Heritage Day aims to spotlight the town’s historical significance with a modern twist. Attendees will take on the role of detectives, gathering clues from various historical sites within walking distance. Notable locations include The Boyertown Area Historical Society and the Colebrookdale Railroad. The mystery, titled “The Ore-Deal at Phoenix Mine,” is based on a true event from the late 1800s, adding an authentic historical element to the challenge.
The adventure kicks off at the Detective’s Tent, located in the parking lot of the Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles. Participants will receive maps and tools necessary to solve the mystery. Along the way, they can engage in interactive activities suitable for all ages, such as an obstacle course hosted by Bear’s Den Fitness.
Once participants believe they have cracked the case, they will return to the Detective’s Tent to submit their solutions and enter for a chance to win a cash prize.
