PennDOT maintenance forces and private contractors have scheduled several construction projects in Berks County this week. To help our readers avoid travel delays, here are a few of the most notable projects.
In Ruscombmanor Township, there will be utility work at the intersection of PA 12 and PA 73 from 7/15/24 to 7/19/24. Expect daytime lane restrictions from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Rain will not cause delays.
In Bethel Township, construction on Interstate 78 between Exit 23 (Shartlesville) and Exit 16 (Midway) will cause nighttime lane restrictions from 7/14/24 to 7/19/24, between 7:00 PM and 6:00 AM. Rain may cause delays.
In the City of Reading, there will be bridge inspections on US 422 between Penn Street and Bingamen Street on 7/13/24 (eastbound) and 7/14/24 (westbound), from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Rain may cause delays. This work was rescheduled from 7/1 and 7/2.
In Cumru Borough, bridge inspections on US 422 between Business Route 222/Bingaman Street and I-176 will cause eastbound lane restrictions on 8/21/24 and westbound lane restrictions on 8/22/24, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Rain may cause delays.
Daytime lane closure on Bellemans Church Road between PA 61 (Pottsville Pike) and Bellemans Church Road for bridge inspections on 7/17/24, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Rain may cause delays. This work was rescheduled from 7/5/24 to 7/10/24.
Nighttime westbound lane restrictions on Interstate 78 between Exit 29 (PA 61) and the Lebanon County Line for drainage work from 7/15/24 to 7/19/24, between 7:00 PM and 5:30 AM. Rain may cause delays.
In Maidencreek Township, Snyder Road will have daytime lane restrictions in both directions with flagging on 7/15/24, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Rain may cause delays.
In Ontelaunee Township, Mount Laurel Road between PA 12 and Kutztown Road will have daytime lane restrictions in both directions with flagging on 7/16/24, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Rain may cause delays.
In Kutztown Borough, Noble Street between US 222 and State Street will have daytime lane restrictions in both directions with flagging on 7/18/24, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Rain may cause delays.
In Rockland Township, Smoketown Road between State Street and Fredericksville Road will have daytime lane restrictions in both directions with flagging on 7/19/24, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Rain may cause delays.
In Centre Township, Garfield Road between Bellemans Church Road and Plum Creek Road will have daytime lane restrictions in both directions with flagging from 7/15/24 to 7/19/24, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Rain may cause delays.
In Sinking Spring Borough, Fritztown Road between Mountain Home Road and Hull Street will have daytime lane restrictions in both directions with flagging from 7/15/24 to 7/16/24, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Rain may cause delays.
