The Board of Directors at the Animal Rescue League of Berks County recently announced the official appointment of Ashley Mikulsky as Chief Executive Officer of the Cumru Township shelter. Mikulsky held the Acting CEO title after Alexis Pagoulatos left the position in September 2023.
“Ashley’s relentless passion for animals, proven track record, and over 15 years with the ARL makes her uniquely qualified to thrive in her new role,” said Tom Hubric, President of ARL’s Board of Directors. “We are very excited to partner with Ashley to continue our important work for the animals and people of Berks County.”
Mikulsky brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to guide ARL into the future. Before returning to the ARL in 2020, she served as Major Gift Officer at Alvernia University, where she founded the university’s thriving Women’s Council, as Director of Development at Junior Achievement of Southeastern PA, and as Director of Development of the ARL, where she also served in several operational roles related to community outreach and feline care from 2005-2015.
“I am deeply humbled to accept this role and look forward to honoring the values of past leadership as we continue to evolve along with the ever-changing animal welfare industry,” said Mikulsky.
“The ARL will continue to prioritize Berks County animals and residents in need and seek to expand our collaborative partnerships for the greater good of those we serve. I consider it an honor to be a part of such an incredible team of hardworking people, and I invite our community to join us with open hearts and minds as we fine-tune our lifesaving programming, community services, and the value of our role in Berks County.”
Mikulsky was recently named Berks County’s Meggan Kerber Outstanding Fundraising Professional by the Association of Fundraising Professionals in 2022. She holds a Master of Business degree from Alvernia University and a Bachelor of Science in Animal Biotechnology and Conservation from Delaware Valley University.
