O’Rourke Family Practice joins Penn State Health Medical Group

A practice that has served generations of families in Wyomissing for more than three decades is now part of Penn State Health Medical Group. O’Rourke Family Practice has joined Penn State Health Medical Group – Spring Ridge.

Dr. David O’Rourke began his Berks County practice in 1987 and has served patients of all ages for primary care needs, as well as partnered with Wilson School District and Wyomissing Area School District to provide medical services to student athletes and school district staff.

Those partnerships and the high-quality primary care services his patients have come to expect will continue with Penn State Health Medical Group.

Becoming part of the Penn State Health network allows established patients of O’Rourke’s practice enhanced access to a full spectrum of primary, specialty and acute care close to where they live and work.

“Penn State Health’s shared commitment to compassionate care will make this transition easy for me and my patients,” O’Rourke said. “I look forward to continuing to serve my community here.”

O’Rourke is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. He earned his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine and completed a residency in family medicine at Reading Hospital.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. O’Rourke and his patients to Penn State Health,” said Dr. Safa Farzin, senior vice president of Penn State Health Medical Group. “Our common value of high-quality care made this partnership a natural fit.”

The agreement between the two organizations takes effect January 30.
