As part of the expansion of its commercial lending services, Tompkins Community Bank has appointed Peter Rowley, senior vice president, to commercial banking manager of Pennsylvania’s Greater Berks region.
Rowley will oversee an expanded commercial lending team responsible for business development across the area, while strategically working to enhance commercial services for Tompkins’ business clients.
He will work alongside Angelo Ramirez, commercial banking manager of Greater Philadelphia, and Harry Ciavarella, commercial banking manager of Tompkins’ Schuylkill and Lehigh markets, while working closely with James Whitton, chief lending officer for Tompkins Pennsylvania.
“For the past eight years, Pete has been instrumental to Tompkins’ growth in Berks County and beyond,” said Ginger Kunkel, president of Tompkins Community Bank’s Pennsylvania market.
“His expertise in finding novel solutions for our valued clients, along with his unwavering dedication to the Greater Berks community, embodies Tompkins’ commitment to personalized, local decision-making. We are all confident that this new, expanded role will enable Pete to achieve even greater success, both for his clients and Tompkins as a whole.”
A graduate of both Syracuse University and M&T Bank’s Commercial Relationship Management Development program, Rowley served as an associate vice president at M&T Bank, before joining Tompkins in 2016. Rowley was recognized as a Forty Under 40 honoree by Lehigh Valley Business Journal in 2022.
An active member of his community, Rowley sits on the President’s Advisory Council at Alvernia University, serves as the Leaders United Co-Chair at United Way and is a committee member of Prospectus Berco, an organization dedicated to enriching the lives of people with disabilities. He is also an active board member of the Foundation of Reading Area Community College and the co-chair of the Foundation’s Golf Committee. Rowley resides in Sinking Spring with his wife, Rachel, and their twin sons.
