Career Ready Berks launches informative video series showcasing five career pathways

Career Ready Berks, a collaborative initiative led by the Berks County Intermediate Unit (BCIU) in partnership with Berks County school districts, post-secondary institutions, and local businesses and organizations, has announced the launch of a dynamic video series highlighting five distinct career pathways.

With a mission to empower over 70,000 students across Berks County, Career Ready Berks unveiled this video series as a vital resource for students, parents, educators, and local businesses alike. The series intends to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation for the diverse career options available within Berks County.

Designed to engage and inform, each video within the series spotlights one of the following five career pathways: Engineering & Industrial Technology, Arts & Communication, Science, Health, & Agriculture, Business, Finance, & IT and Human Services.

Through compelling interviews, facts, and figures, viewers will gain valuable insights into career opportunities, internships, potential salaries, education requirements, and other information relevant to each pathway. The collaborative effort features perspectives from local Berks County businesses and schools, providing firsthand accounts of the professional landscape within the region.

Local businesses and school districts featured in the videos include East Penn Manufacturing, Viwinco Windows, Berks Arts, Wilson School District, Reading Hospital | Tower Health, Berks County Agricultural Center, Riverfront Federal Credit Union, Weidenhammer Systems, Governor Mifflin School District, and Co-County Wellness Services.

“This video initiative underscores our commitment to equip Berks County students and their parents with important information and resources regarding the career pathways to make informed decisions,” shared Stacy Dunleavy, Program Administrator, Berks County Intermediate Unit.

“Berks County has a variety of career opportunities available for students whether they enter the workforce after high school, attain technical training, or attend a four-year college. By showcasing the breadth of career pathways available locally, we aim to inspire and guide our students towards fulfilling and rewarding futures right here in Berks County.”

The video series targets a diverse audience, including students, parents, guidance counselors, curriculum coordinators, school districts, and local businesses, to foster greater awareness and engagement within the community.
