Job seekers in Berks County will have a unique opportunity to land a new role next week as CHOR Youth and Family Services hosts a special hiring event in Reading. The organization is holding a casting call-style job fair on Monday, March 11, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Cardy Day Academy, located at Spring and Nicolls Street.
Unlike a traditional job fair, this event aims to put local talent in the spotlight, with hiring directors from CHOR’s 35 programs and services in attendance, offering immediate interviews—and in some cases, on-the-spot job offers.
“We know there are stars right here in Reading and Lancaster just waiting to be discovered,” said Jill Troutman, Senior Director of Advancement at CHOR. “This event is their moment to step into the spotlight and showcase their skills.”
CHOR is looking to fill over 20 open positions across various roles, including professional staff, mentors, cafeteria workers, and housekeeping staff. Job seekers should bring their resume and a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license to participate in the hiring process.
Troutman emphasized that for certain roles, hiring paperwork could be completed on the same day. “Talk about taking the pressure off!” she said.
