Two Douglassville residents have been arrested following a string of armed robberies at convenience stores in Berks and Chester counties.
According to the Amity Township Police Department, the first incident occurred shortly after midnight on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at the Speedway gas station located at 1028 Ben Franklin Highway (Route 422). A white male suspect, armed with a wrench, entered the store and fled with an undetermined amount of cash.
A second robbery at the same Speedway location took place around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, April 30. Investigators noted that the suspect was wearing the same clothing as in the March incident and again fled with cash.
While the Amity Township cases were under investigation, two additional robberies were reported at the 7-Eleven/Sunoco at 2200 Pottstown Pike in South Coventry Township, Chester County. These incidents occurred during the early morning hours of April 28 and April 30 and were investigated by the Pennsylvania State Police at the Embreeville Barracks.
On Monday, May 5, 2025, law enforcement from Amity Township Police and the Pennsylvania State Police executed multiple search warrants at a residence in Amity Township. As a result, authorities arrested Joseph Francis Confino, 33, and Angela Lynn Stuebe, 53, both of Douglassville. Police stated the arrests were made without incident, and evidence was recovered linking the suspects to the robberies.
