In a crackdown on local drug trafficking, the Berks County Drug Task Force arrested Eric Emilio Delacruz, 36, of West Reading Borough, following a thorough investigation that led to a raid on his residence.
Authorities began their investigation in April 2024, focusing on suspicious activities in the 300 block of Chestnut Street, West Reading. Their efforts bore fruit on June 13, when detectives executed a search warrant at Delacruz’s home on Chestnut Street. The operation uncovered a substantial stash of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.
During the search, officers seized: 735 grams of cocaine, valued at approximately $36,750. 744 fentanyl pills, valued at around $7,440. 24 grams of methamphetamine, valued at about $480. 300 grams of marijuana, valued at roughly $1,500. Various drug paraphernalia, including scales and packaging materials. Over $20,000 in cash.
Delacruz faces multiple charges including four counts of possession with intent to deliver controlled substances, four counts of possession of a controlled substance, and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was taken into custody and processed at the Berks County Sheriff’s Office. Currently, Delacruz is being held on $100,000 bail as he awaits his preliminary arraignment.
As in every criminal case, the fact that an arrest occurred or a complaint has been filed is merely an accusation, and the defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
