The Berks County District Attorney’s Human Trafficking Task Force arrested two men on December 5, 2024, during an undercover operation targeting the illegal sex trade involving underage victims.
The sting operation involved detectives posting ads on websites commonly associated with sexual solicitation. Two individuals, identified as Keith George Manwiller, 49, of Hummelstown, and Matthew Christian Koroma, 23, of Sinking Spring, responded to the ads. Both men allegedly agreed to meet and pay to engage in sexual activity with minors at undisclosed locations within the county.
Manwiller and Koroma were arrested without incident and charged with multiple offenses, including trafficking individuals, unlawful contact with a minor, criminal attempt to corrupt minors, and criminal attempt to patronize or sexually assault minors.
Following their arrests, the defendants were transported to the Berks County Sheriff’s Department Central Processing Center, where they were officially charged and arraigned. Magisterial District Judge Andrea J. Book set bail for both men at $100,000 each.
During the operation, task force members encountered an individual believed to be a victim of human trafficking. The victim was provided with services and support as part of the task force’s mission to combat trafficking and assist survivors.
The Berks County Human Trafficking Task Force, which includes the District Attorney’s Office, Department of Homeland Security, and local and state police agencies, works to investigate and dismantle criminal organizations involved in human trafficking. The task force also partners with Zoe International to identify and support victims.
Residents with information about human trafficking are urged to contact the Berks County Detectives’ Unit at 610-478-7171. All reports remain confidential.
As in all criminal cases, the charges against Manwiller and Koroma are accusations, and they are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
