The Berks County District Attorney’s Office, following a complaint from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, identified and charged 52-year-old Morrell L. Williams with Possession of Child Pornography after detectives say a search of his residence and devices found digital files of suspected Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) that were being uploaded and shared utilizing the internet/web application “Synchronoss Technologies, Inc’.
The investigation revealed that the Synchronoss account was linked to the defendant’s cellular telephone. A search warrant was served upon Synchronoss Technologies and additional images of CSAM were discovered. In addition, non-CSAM images and videos of the defendant were discovered within this account. An administrative subpoena was served upon the cellular service provider associated with the Synchronoss account. The subscriber information for this mobile telephone was linked to the defendant.
Members of the Berks County Detectives served a search warrant at the defendant’s residence located in Cumru Township. Numerous electronic devices were seized during this search.
As a result of a forensic analysis conducted on the defendant’s electronic devices by the Berks County District Attorney’s Forensic Services Unit, over two hundred digital images of CSAM were located on a laptop computer, an external hard drive, a Samsung tablet, and a cellular telephone.
On Tuesday, February 25, 2025, the Defendant was charged with Sexual Abuse of Children – Possession of Child Pornography, and Criminal Use of a Communications Facility.
On Friday, February 28, 2025, the Defendant surrendered to members of the Berks County Detectives. The defendant was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge David YOCH. His bail was set as $100,000.
As in every criminal case, the fact that an arrest occurred or that a criminal complaint has been filed is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
