DUI checkpoint in Robeson Township results in multiple arrests and citations

A multi-agency DUI checkpoint held Saturday night, July 5, 2025, in Robeson Township led to several arrests and dozens of citations, according to the Berks County Police Departments participating in the North Central Regional DUI Enforcement Program.

The checkpoint was conducted in the 2600 block of Main Street from 8:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. Officers stopped a total of 289 vehicles during the six-hour operation. Three drivers were arrested for driving under the influence — one for alcohol impairment and two for drug-related impairment. In addition, two individuals were taken into custody on outstanding warrants.

Police also issued 41 citations and 22 warnings for various traffic violations.

Officers from the Robeson Township Police Department were joined by members of the Pennsylvania State Police, as well as officers from Muhlenberg, Exeter, Bethel, Fleetwood, Central Berks, Eastern Berks, South Heidelberg, Wyomissing, Northern Berks, Hamburg, Douglass Berks, Amity, and Brecknock Township police departments.

The sobriety checkpoint was part of an ongoing DUI deterrence initiative funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Authorities remind the public to report suspected impaired drivers by calling 911. To report underage drinking, residents can contact 1-888-UNDER-21.
