Original Article: The Eastern Berks Regional Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating Rodney L. Moyer, 45, formerly of Colebrookdale Township. Moyer is wanted in connection to a robbery and kidnapping that took place Monday February 27, 2023 at approximately 8:26am at the Circle K convenience store, 1255 N. Reading Avenue in Colebrookdale Township.
According to investigators, the adult male victim was approached in the parking lot of the store by a white male who indicated that he had a gun, and directed the victim to go into the store and withdraw a sum of money from the ATM machine.
The actor further instructed the victim that if he did not comply, the actor would shoot him and others in the vicinity, and he told the victim that after withdrawing the money, the victim was to drive him to Philadelphia.
The actor followed the victim into the store and stood by him while he withdrew the money. The victim complied with the actor’s instructions, and drove him to Philadelphia.
During the drive, the actor told the victim to stop at another ATM and withdraw an additional sum of money, which the victim again complied with. The trip then resumed, and at a later time and location, the actor exited the vehicle and walked away. It was at that time the victim contacted police.
Police say the actor did not display a weapon, rather the threat of a gun was verbal, and it is not known whether or not he actually had one.
Following an investigation, police identified the actor as Rodney L. Moyer, 45, formerly of Colebrookdale Township, current address unknown.
Moyer is wanted by Eastern Berks Regional Police on numerous felony charges including Robbery, Kidnapping, Unlawful Restraint, False Imprisonment, and a Misdemeanor count of Theft.
