Fight leads to shooting overnight at Reading’s Pendora Park, 2 injured

The Reading Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place in the early hours of Friday, May 24, in the area of the basketball court of Pendora Park.

Police officers initially responded to the 1800 block of Forrest Street following the report of a shooting at around 2:00 am.

According to police, arriving officers located an adult male with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg in the block. A second adult male was also located with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the shoulder. Both victims were transported to Reading Hospital for treatment.

Police believe the shots were fired during a fight in the area of the basketball courts. The shooting is currently under investigation but investigators say there is no known threat to the public and no suspect information at this time.
