Four people have been arrested in connection with a burglary investigation that began after gaming machines were stolen from a Wyomissing convenience store in August, according to the Wyomissing Police Department.
Police identified those arrested as Daniel Valez, 43, of Reading; Tytoya Rowles, 46, of Laureldale; Adonis Orta Rivera, 41, of Reading; and Luis Miranda, 29, of Reading.
The four face charges including burglary, criminal trespass, theft, conspiracy and related offenses.
The investigation began Aug. 27 after a burglary at the Kwik Stop, 1912 State Hill Road, where Pennsylvania Skills Machines were taken from the business, police said.
As the investigation continued, detectives learned of similar burglaries at businesses throughout Berks County. Wyomissing detectives began working with investigators from other law enforcement agencies to share information, identify patterns and develop suspects believed to be involved in the burglaries.
The investigation led authorities to Spring Township on Sept. 23, when investigators observed the suspects allegedly breaking into the Sunoco gas station at State Hill and Van Reed roads, according to police.
Law enforcement officers responded to the scene and took four suspects into custody.
Wyomissing Police credited several agencies with assisting in the investigation, including the West Reading, Spring Township, Shillington, Muhlenberg Township, Fleetwood and Reading police departments, along with Berks County Detectives and Pennsylvania State Police.
Police said the investigation highlighted the importance of cooperation and information sharing among law enforcement agencies when investigating crimes that cross municipal boundaries.
All individuals charged are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
