The Reading Police Department is investigating two separate shootings that occurred during the early hours of October 27, 2024, leaving several individuals injured.
The first incident took place at approximately 2:41 a.m. on the 100 block of N 9th Street. Officers responded to a report of a shooting and found an adult male with multiple gunshot wounds to his legs. The victim was transported to Reading Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment. Police determined that the shooting occurred during a fight outside the El Primo bar, 202 N. 9th Street. The suspect has been described as a light-skinned Puerto Rican male who speaks Spanish. Authorities are continuing their search for the suspect.
The second shooting was reported at around 4:07 a.m. on the 600 block of Thorn Street. Officers arrived at the scene to find a large group of people fleeing the area. One adult male was discovered with a gunshot wound to the wrist and was taken to Reading Hospital for treatment. Shortly afterward, two additional adult males arrived at Reading Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital, both suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
According to the investigation, all three victims were inside a residence when an unidentified suspect fired multiple shots into the rear of the building, striking them. At this time, there is no information available on the suspect involved in this second incident.
