A 19-year-old Heidelberg Township man is facing multiple charges following a stabbing that occurred Tuesday in western Berks County.
According to a press release from the South Heidelberg Township Police Department, officers were dispatched to a residence on Long Lane in Heidelberg Township on April 29 for a report of a stabbing. When officers arrived, they found a 36-year-old male victim suffering from stab wounds to the abdominal area and arm. Police administered aid until emergency medical personnel arrived and transported the victim to a hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition.
The suspect, identified as Trent Fugee, had fled the scene before police arrived. He was later located and taken into custody without incident by the Pennsylvania State Police. Authorities say Fugee was transported to the Central Processing Center and is awaiting arraignment.
Fugee is facing several charges, including aggravated assault, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person, and possession of an instrument of crime with intent.
The South Heidelberg Township Police Department emphasized that a criminal complaint is an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
The department provides police coverage for South Heidelberg Township, Heidelberg Township, Wernersville Borough, and Robesonia Borough.
