A 24-year-old Leesport man was killed in a shooting early Saturday morning at a home on Hex Highway in Tilden Township.
The Pennsylvania State Police Hamburg Crime Unit reported that troopers responded a residence in the 1300 block of Hex Highway at approximately 12:18 a.m. on December 14 after receiving reports of a gunshot victim.
The victim, identified as Dawson Mohl, was found inside the home. Troopers attempted life-saving measures, but Mohl was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators executed a search warrant at the residence and collected evidence. The incident has been classified by state police as a negligent homicide. Additional details about the circumstances leading to the shooting have not been disclosed as the investigation remains ongoing.
