A man has been arrested and accused of burglarizing a business in West Reading on Sunday, authorities said.
On May 22, 2022, at approximately 9:20pm, the West Reading Police Department was dispatched to a business in the 700 block of Reading Avenue for a report of possible burglary in progress.
Upon arrival, officers conducted a search of the business and located a male, identified as Michael Anthony Giovinazzo Jr., attempting to leave the location.
Police say their investigation revealed that Giovinazzo had entered the closed business without permission and attempted to steal shirts, a laptop and another piece of computer equipment owned by the business.
Police also added that a search of Giovinazzo yielded a small amount of marijuana.
Giovinazzo was arrested and charged with burglary, criminal trespassing, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, and possession of Marijuana.
Giovinazzo was transported to Berks County Central Processing to be arraigned for the listed charges before a District Justice.
