A man was arrested Friday night, May 5, in the West Wyomissing section of Spring Township in connection to a shooting. The incident took place around 11pm in the 2100 block of Cleveland Ave.
According to Spring Township Police, officers located a male victim who sustained a minor graze wound from a bullet to his arm. The victim relayed to them that he had been at a nearby residence visiting a female when he was confronted by another male subject unknown to him. The victim fled out of the residence as the second male chased him while firing shots at him, one of which struck him.
Officers were able to determine which residence this began at, which was in the 2100 block of Cleveland Ave. Officers made contact with the female resident. While speaking with the female, officers observed a male subject attempting to flee from a second-floor window at the residence, but climbed back inside upon seeing the police.
Police entered the house and the male was taken into custody without further incident. He was identified as Terrance Bridgers, age 30, of the 1300 block of Perkiomen Ave, Reading, PA. Police determined that he was the shooter as well.
A search warrant was subsequently executed at the residence and a semiautomatic handgun and ammunition were located hidden in the basement.
The victim was treated by EMS on-scene and released.
Bridgers was charged with Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, and Reckless Endangering. Bail information was not immediately available.
Spring Township Police were assisted in the investigation by the Wyomissing Police and the Berks County Detectives.
