Original post: An investigation is underway after officers shot and killed a man suspected of murder Thursday night following a brief car chase. The incident took place around 9pm in the 900 block of Spring Street, Berkshire Heights section of Wyomissing.

Authorities on-scene said the driver was a known homicide suspect wanted out of New Jersey and Philadelphia.

The car chase ended in the backyard of a house on Spring Street in Wyomissing. That is where police shot and killed the suspect.

The details of the officer-involved shooting were not immediately available as authorities said the investigation is still in its initial phase.

A portion of Spring Street is closed for the investigation.
