One injured after overnight shooting in Northeast Reading

Update 8/2/22: Police say the victim, identified as 36 year-old Samuel Castillo, died Monday night at Reading Hospital from his injuries. No arrests have been made.

Original article: One person is in the hospital following a shooting just after midnight on Monday, August 1, 2022. The shooting happened in the area of Locust Street and Greenwich Street in the City of Reading.

Reading Police were called to the area of Locust Street and Greenwich Street around 12:35am, for a report of shots witnessed.

Investigators say the victim is a 36 year old male, who was found shot in a vehicle. The victim was transported to Reading Hospital for treatment.

The Reading Police Department is requesting that anyone with information on this incident contact the Reading Police Department at 610-655-6116.
