One injured following shooting in Northwest Reading

One person was injured Tuesday evening after a shooting in Northwest Reading, according to the Reading Police Department Criminal Investigations Division.

The shooting was reported on the 800 block of Ritter Street, November 30, 2021, at approximately 5:30pm. While responding to the scene, Police and EMS crews were alerted that the victim was already in transit to the hospital in a personal vehicle.

Soon after, crews found the car and victim near Miltimore and West Buttonwood Streets.

Investigators say the 28 year-old male victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the chest area and was transported to Reading Hospital from Miltimore Streeet by EMS for treatment for injuries.

During the course of the investigation, Police determined that an unidentified male suspect approached the victim, who was seated inside a vehicle, and fired multiple shots at him. The suspect then fled the area on foot.
