A police pursuit in Alsace, Muhlenberg, and Ruscombmanor Townships resulted in multiple people having injuries and one person being arrested on Wednesday afternoon.
At 11:23am, a pursuit started as a Reading State Trooper attempted to make a traffic stop on Mount Laurel Road near the intersection of Kutz Road, Alsace Township.
According to police, the vehicle failed to respond to the Trooper’s Emergency Lights and Sirens and pursuit ensued through Alsace, Muhlenberg, and Ruscombmanor Townships for approximately nine miles.
The operator of the vehicle, Andrew Tobin, subsequently crashed on Hartz Road at the intersection of Blandon Road, Route 73.
Three other vehicles were involved in the crash at Hartz Road and 73. Mutiple ambulances were sent to the scene.
A brief foot pursuit ensued and Tobin was subsequently taken into custody. Tobin was found to be in possession of a firearm not to be carried without a license.
A warrant was obtained and charges were filed through district court. Tobin was charged with multiple offences, including aggravated assault by vehicle, resisting arrest, and recklessly endangering another person.
