Even with this week’s high temperatures and humidity, police officers across Berks County will continue to participate in aggressive driving details and be vigilant to take impaired drivers off local roads.
The North Central Regional DUI Enforcement Program is urging travelers to drive safely this weekend. Expecting increased alcohol use and drivers operating under the effects of drugs, police will be conducting increased DUI enforcement this weekend.
Authorities say enforcement will continue through the summer months. Police will be conducting Roving Patrols and Sobriety Checkpoints on area roadways looking for impaired drivers.
The North Central Regional DUI Enforcement program equips, funds, and coordinates the municipal police DUI enforcement in the following counties: Northumberland, Schuylkill, Berks, Snyder, Union, Columbia, Montour, Berks, Monroe and Pike.
Sobriety Checkpoints and Roving Patrols are funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
