Police investigating late-night shooting in Spring Township, one arrest made

A chaotic scene unfolded at a residence near the intersection of West Lawn Ave and Reading Ave in Spring Township Friday, March 8, just before midnight as multiple shots rang out, leaving one person injured and sparking a police investigation into the incident.

Police were alerted to the situation just before 11:39pm after receiving reports of multiple shots fired in the area. Upon arrival, officers encountered a scene with people fleeing the area in the wake of the violence.

Amidst the commotion, they discovered a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. The victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Fortunately, his injuries were deemed non-life threatening.

According to police, the scene indicated that there were several shooters involved in what they are describing as “gun battle.”

As the crowd dispersed the scene, several individuals reportedly sustained laceration injuries from glass on their hands and legs, with a few located later at two different nearby convenience stores.

One suspect was apprehended immediately following the incident. He was identified as Ke’Sean Williams, 18, of Valley Road in Wyomissing. Williams was charged with Attempted Homicide, Attempted Aggravated Assault, and Recklessly Endangering Another Person. He was committed to Berks County Prison after failing to post $500,000 bail.

The investigation into the incident is still active, with authorities urging anyone with information to come forward.
