Police release results of DUI Checkpoint in Exeter Township

The Exeter Township Police Department, in conjunction with the Highway Safety Network and PennDOT, conducted a DUI Checkpoint on Friday May 26th into Saturday May 27th.

According to a public information report, 875 vehicles drove through the checkpoint. 9 impaired drivers were arrested for suspicion of Driving Under the Influence.

9 drug related arrested were made, 77 traffic citations were issued, 9 for people driving without drivers licenses and four seatbelt violations. 43 warnings were issued.

Additionally an illegal firearm and cash was seized relative to a drug investigation.

The Exeter Police were assisted by Cumru Township Police, Muhlenberg Township Police, Bethel Township Police, South Heidelberg Township Police, Eastern Berks Regional Police, Amity Township Police, Robeson Township Police, Hamburg Borough Police, Exeter Township Fire Police and Friends of the Exeter Township Police.
