Authorities in Berks County are seeking assistance from the public in identifying individuals involved in a series of thefts and fraud incidents targeting convenience stores. The Fleetwood Borough Police and Northern Berks Regional Police have reported losses exceeding $2,500 linked to the suspects, who have allegedly carried out fraudulent activities at Speedway and Dollar General locations.
The suspects reportedly attempt to purchase gift cards using a credit card. When the transaction fails, they persuade store clerks to manually enter the card numbers. Stores later discover that fraudulent transactions have occurred, resulting in significant financial losses. Police believe the suspects have also attempted similar schemes in Allentown, Topton, and Bethlehem.
Authorities have released images of the suspects and are urging the public to come forward with any information. Individuals with details about the incident or the suspects’ identities are encouraged to submit anonymous tips to Crime Alert Berks County, which is offering cash rewards of up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest.
