Reading man arrested in drug bust as task force seizes cash, marijuana

A months-long drug investigation by the Berks County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force and the Reading Police Department resulted in the arrest of a Reading man on multiple drug-related charges.

Edgar Anthony Colon, 33, of the 1000 block of Marion Street, was taken into custody on March 7 after authorities executed a search warrant on his person, vehicle, and residence.

According to the Berks County District Attorney’s Office, investigators seized approximately 2.5 pounds of marijuana, packaged in both bulk and small bags for distribution, with an estimated street value of $4,000. Additionally, authorities recovered a functional digital scale, packaging materials labeled with marijuana-related terms, approximately $18,000 in U.S. currency believed to be proceeds from drug sales, and a cellular phone.

Colon has been charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and dealing in unlawful proceeds. He was taken to the Berks County Sheriff’s Central Processing Center and is awaiting arraignment.
