Ylario Rafael Caceres, 66, of Reading, PA, was arrested on Thursday, April 4, 2024, by Berks County Detectives on charges related to child sexual abuse, according to the Berks County District Attorney’s office.
The investigation began on Thursday, February 15, 2024, when Berks County District Attorney’s Detectives received a ChildLine referral from the Department of Human Services, Commonwealth of PA, which alleged sexual abuse of a 17-year-old female by the defendant.
On Tuesday, February 27, 2024, a forensic interview was conducted with the victim at the Berks County Children’s Alliance Center, Reading, PA. During the interview, the victim disclosed that the defendant sexually abused her when she was between 13 and 14 years of age. The victim reported that the sexual abuse occurred at a residence located in Muhlenberg Township.
During the investigation, Berks County Detectives learned that a second victim was also sexually abused by the defendant. It was determined that this victim is now 16 years of age and currently residing in New Jersey.
On Monday, March 18, 2024, a forensic interview was conducted with Victim #2 by the Ocean County (NJ) Prosecutor’s office. During the interview, victim #2 disclosed that the defendant sexually abused her on multiple occasions starting when she was approximately 11 years of age. According to victim #2, this abuse also occurred at a private residence located in Muhlenberg Township.
On Thursday, April 4, 2024, the Defendant was charged with multiple counts of Rape, Indecent Assault, Corruption of Minors, Endangering Welfare of Children, and Intimidation, Retaliation or Obstruction in Child Abuse Cases and was taken into custody by members the Berks County Detectives.
The Defendant was transported to the Central Processing Center located at the Berks County Sheriff’s Office, where he was fingerprinted and photographed.
On Thursday, April 4, 2024, the Defendant was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Dean R. Patton. His bail was set at $250,000.
A criminal complaint is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
