The Reading Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that took place overnight in Southeast Reading.
On August 13, 2024, at approximately 12:50am officers responded to the area of the 200 block of Maple Street for the report of a shooting. Officers located an adult male in the 200 block of Maple Street later identified as Darius Francis, 27-years-old, with multiple gunshot wounds. Francis was transported to Reading Hospital where he died of his injuries.
