Shooting incident at Pear and Windsor Streets leaves one injured

Reading Police and EMS rushed to the intersection of Pear and Windsor Streets Tuesday morning in response to reports of a shooting. Initial reports indicate that a male had been shot in the arm.

The incident unfolded around 9:04am in the 100 block of Windsor Street. First responders promptly arrived at the scene to tend to the victim and secure the area. One individual was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital.

In the wake of the incident, the area of Pear and Windsor Streets was cordoned off by the police to facilitate the investigation. The investigation appeared to be focused on a silver passenger van that had its windows shattered.

Police on scene said they have reason to believe the shooting was a targeted attack, but did not provide any information on the what lead to the incident or information on a suspect. They also said the victim’s injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
