Seven additional details were conducted near Conrad Weiser Middle and High schools along Penn Avenue in Heidelberg Township, focusing on morning arrivals and afternoon traffic.
Officers also conducted eight monitoring details at Lincoln Drive and Werner Street in Wernersville during morning commuting hours and school bus pickup times. Ten details were held at Mountain Home Road and Wernersville Road in South Heidelberg Township, including afternoon and overnight enforcement aimed at speeding and impaired driving.
Two speed enforcement shifts were also conducted along the 300 block of Big Spring Road in Heidelberg Township, resulting in one citation.
The department separately participated in an occupant protection initiative funded through the Highway Safety Network from Sept. 13 through Sept. 26. Officers conducted 15.5 hours of overtime enforcement, making 34 vehicle stops and issuing 14 citations and 24 warnings.
Those details took place along Penn Avenue and other locations in Wernersville, South Heidelberg Township, Heidelberg Township and Robesonia.
