The South Heidelberg Township Police Department has released the results of a high-visibility traffic enforcement campaign conducted throughout June, targeting areas where residents had reported frequent reckless or aggressive driving.
According to the department, officers carried out focused traffic enforcement details at five locations across South Heidelberg Township and neighboring Robesonia Borough with the goal of improving roadway safety and addressing recurring traffic complaints.
Police conducted seven traffic details at Primrose Lane at South Sandy and Ivy Lane and five details at Stitzer Avenue and West Wilson Avenue, with both locations focusing on stop sign enforcement. Another four traffic details targeting stop sign violations were conducted at Carriage Drive and Beckley Street.
In Robesonia Borough, officers completed six crosswalk enforcement details along Penn Avenue at North Linden Street, Robeson Street, North Elm Street, and South Wayne Street to encourage pedestrian safety and improve driver compliance.
The department also conducted nine traffic details at Furnace Road and Franklin Street, where officers focused on speeding enforcement.
Police said the initiative was prompted by a high volume of community complaints about unsafe driving behaviors in the targeted areas.
“The SHPD is committed to maintaining safe roadways and promoting responsible driving habits,” the department said. “These targeted efforts aim to reduce the risk of accidents and ensure a safer community for all.”
The department did not release the number of citations or warnings issued during the enforcement details.
